School Lunch Program

We are happy to announce that the School Lunch Program is available at Kingston Primary School in 2025.

What is the purpose of the program?

The School Lunch Program provides a nutritious, cooked, sit down meal for 20 minutes for students. This can benefit children in many ways, such as encouraging optimal learning, engagement, social skills and connectedness whilst at school. The program is run by School Food Matters in partnership with Loaves and Fishes Tasmania, through Government funding.

What will the program involve?

  • Our food service staff will cook and serve lunch for your child’s class on specified days.
  • Lunches will start in Week 3, 2025 (week beginning 17 February) and continue through to the end of Term 4 in 2025.
  • If you would like your child to have the lunches, please complete the Student Consent Form available from the School Office and return it as soon as possible. This information will help us develop a process to provide lunch for as many students as possible, however children with food allergies will need to bring their own lunch box, as they cannot be catered for through the School Lunch Program at this point in time.
  • Participation is voluntary. If you do not want your child to participate, they do not have to.

What if I change my mind?

If you want your child to opt in or out after the starting date, just contact the School Office to let them know.
