Kingston Primary School Association Update

My name is Samara Jenkins and I am lucky enough to be the new Chairperson of the Kingston Primary School Association. I am keen to reach out to the School Community via the newsletter to let you know what is happening in the Association.

The School Association meets on a Tuesday in Week 3 (1:45pm – 2:45pm) and Week 8 of term (6:30pm – 8.00pm) and all members of the School Community are more than welcome to attend.

We had our Annual General Meeting on 21 March and our new committee consists of:

Vice Chairperson/Parent – Wendy Thomson
Secretary/Parent – Howard Oettle
Vice Secretary/Parent – Angela Quinn
Treasurer/Staff – Chris Anagnostis
Fundraising Coordinator/Parent - Sarah Dance
Staff – Sam Dobson
Staff - Stephen Jones
Parent –  Bonnie Payne
Parent - Jodi Enright

From our meeting on Tuesday 9 May we have decided over the next few meetings to put together a Strategic Plan for the Committee to work towards. We also heard from each member as to why they wanted to be a part of the Committee and some of the answers were:

• To give back to the school that does amazing work with our kids;
• To know what is going on within the school and school community;
• To make friends and learn new skills;
• Assist with raising the positive profile of the school;
• To raise money to improve our amazing school for the students;
• To strengthen the school community and help connect the community and school.
