State Schools Athletics Championships

On Friday 5 May the Huon Channel Athletics team ventured to Launceston to represent our Association in the State Schools Athletics Championships. Congratulations to Theo Bessell, Theo Taberlay, William Hallock and Mya Wass who were part of this team.

The forecast for the day was rain and we got plenty of it! Thanks to parents who attended and helped with getting our team's shelter set up to help keep everyone dry in-between events.

As a team we came second overall in the Country Schools Division…only 19 points off the winning team which was a great effort. A big thanks to those parents who drove up and supported the team.

Well done Theo Taberlay and Theo Bessell who were part of the Grade 3 Boys 4 x 100m Relay Team that finished in third place, and William Hallock who placed third in the Grade 4 boys 200m and second in the 400m. It was great to see our students out there doing their best and building friendships with students from other schools.
