Dear Families,

We have made it to the end of Term 3! This term has been an incredibly busy and productive one, with so much to celebrate. Term 3 is always a big term in the classroom across all grades, embedding the learning from earlier in the year. 2025 has proven to be no different with our students demonstrating full engagement in the classroom, and our dedicated staff continuing to work tirelessly toward our school and student goals.

Outside of the classroom, this term has been particularly memorable with a wide range of highlights and achievements.

Undoubtedly the biggest achievement was seeing the hard work and dedication of our students and staff come to life with our fantastic production of Matilda. It was a true celebration of talent and teamwork. This will certainly be an event that we will celebrate and look back on fondly for some time. Another key highlight was our annual Swimming Carnival, also a huge success, with students showcasing great camaraderie, fair play, participation and skill in the pool and our Student Leaders stepping up into that key leadership role. Our youngest learners in Kinder and Prep embraced the great outdoors through continued Bush Adventures sessions, fostering a love for nature and hands-on discovery. It is always a highlight to see their smiling faces when they discover something new.

We are also incredibly proud of our continued success in reading. Our focused efforts on word recognition and reading fluency are yielding great results and it's wonderful to see so many of our students becoming confident, independent readers. This is a testament to the talented, dedicated and hardworking teachers and staff that we are lucky enough to have at Kingston Primary School. With our school being early adopters ready to embrace growth and change, the teaching and learning programs for our students are fully embedded ahead of Departmental timelines.

Our popular School Lunch Program has continued to be a huge sensation and we are excited to be expanding the program to four days a week beginning in Term 4. This expansion is a testament to the program's success, led by Wendy, and we will provide even more nutritious meals for our students.

Finally we have some new families who have joined us at Kingston Primary. We are delighted to welcome you to our School Community.

2026 Class Requests

Kingston Primary School will start planning for the next year class models, staffing and student allocations into classes early in Term 4. Teachers will be inputting vitally important academic and social data to ensure we have the best placement for your child in 2026. This will also include student friendship requests. Although we do not accept parent requests for specific teachers, if there is an educational and wellbeing defined reason for requesting a particular class, please email me at angela.crane@decyp.tas.gov.au before Wednesday 22 October. While requests are not guaranteed, we try to accommodate these wherever possible.

With Term 4 just around the corner, we have many exciting events to look forward to, including the highly anticipated opening of the Outdoor Kitchen Garden facility. I know next term will be just as exciting and full of learning opportunities! Please stay connected through our fortnightly newsletter, Social Media posts, Schoolzine, Seesaw or drop in and have a chat with one of our fabulous team.

Wishing our entire Kingston Primary School community a wonderful and well-deserved term break.

Until next time,

Ange Crane
