Matilda the Musical is almost upon us and the energy and excitement around Kingston Primary School is at an all-time high!

Our magnificent Lead Cast of 52 of the hardest working and most talented performers in the entertainment industry in Australia are almost ready, so it’s time to get your tickets, and prepare to be transported to a world of big bullies and little heroes, of excitement danger and intrigue ….. and a very big chocolate cake.

The wonderful students of KPS have been rehearsing tirelessly to put on an incredible show, to share with you all the fun and adventure of live stage performance. Each class from Prep to Year 6 is performing 2 songs, and the dedication shown by all students is unbelievable.

This is an unbelievable opportunity for Primary school aged students to get to perform on one of the biggest and best stages in Tasmania, so please remember to book tickets to show your support for our students. Tickets are selling fast, so get yours now before they sell out.

Every student in the school has taken the opportunity to contribute either by acting, singing, dancing or working as part of the Backstage and Tech teams. Our Backstage teams are learning how to work with sound, lights, scene projection, set construction, prop movement, and prop design and construction. These skills are also being augmented by the teamwork and leadership skills required to work in these industries.

Along with the above benefits, the Musical is helping develop Literacy and Numeracy skills for many students, including budgeting out the cost for elements of the performance, writing edits and additions to the script, and learning pages and pages of lyrics and dialogue.
