Dear Kingston Primary School Families,
As we reach the end of a bustling but rewarding term, it is nice to step back and reflect on all that has been achieved. Firstly we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your support and partnership. Your commitment to our school is the cornerstone of our students' success and we're incredibly grateful for your support. This term has been a whirlwind of exciting events, achievements and growth. We kicked off the year with a wonderful Welcome Back Breakfast, setting a positive tone and building connections for the term ahead. It was wonderful to see so many families sharing in the joy of the new school year.
We are also incredibly excited about the work of our Kingston Primary School Association. Their dedication in their commitment to developing a Strategic Plan, in partnership with the school, will ensure we continue to provide the best possible learning environment for our students into next term and beyond. We look forward to sharing their progress with you as the year progresses.
A highlight for our students has been the installation of the new swings on the top oval. They have been a huge hit! The sounds of laughter during break times are a testament to the positive impact these additions have had on our students’ play and their well-being. We are also thrilled to announce the successful application for a $100,000 grant that will fund a much-needed upgrade to our play equipment on the top oval, promising exciting new opportunities for all of our students.
Our Harmony Day celebrations were a beautiful reflection of the diverse and inclusive community we cherish at Kingston Primary. The shared lunch was a highlight, showcasing the rich tapestry of cultures that make our school so special. A huge thank you to the entire parent community.
The Year 5-6 Camp earlier in the term proved to be an unforgettable adventure filled with challenges, teamwork and personal growth. We've been inundated with stories of resilience and friendship, highlighting the valuable connections made. Parents would have noted the move to holding camp at the start of the year. Our experience was that this was extremely beneficial in setting the tone for a positive and collaborative school year.
Our Athletics Carnival was a resounding success! Students displayed incredible determination, with many achieving personal bests and demonstrating exceptional talent. A special shout-out to Mrs Cockerell and our Student Leadership Team for their hard work. It was a day of pure celebration and school spirit.
Term One saw significant success in our Upper Primary academic priorities, with the dedicated implementation of both UFLI (phonics-based approach) and Word Origins, thanks to the exceptional leadership within our school and the hard work and growth mindset of our classroom teachers, placing us nearly 12 months ahead of Departmental implementation guidelines and positively impacting academic data for ALL of our students.
And of course we can't forget the beginnings of our upcoming production of Matilda Jr - The Musical! The cast has been working tirelessly, and we are all counting down the days until we see the full performance later in the school year. Remember to keep an eye out for ticket sales early next term!
As we head into the break, we wish you all a safe and restful time with family and friends. Thank you for making this term so successful. We look forward to welcoming you back for another term filled with learning, laughter and community spirit.
Wishing you all the very best.
