This year Ms Dobson challenged us to think about a legacy we would like to create in our roles as School Captains. We are thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting partnership between the Adventure Patch Mountain View childcare service and Kingston Primary School
, 'For the Love of Reading'. 'For
the Love of Reading' is an initiative where one class each week, from Year 1-6, will visit the Centre with a chosen picture book. Students will read their book with a child as well as talking about the characters, story and pictures. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to build their reading skills and to support the children with theirs. We thought the love of reading and exploring books was an important aspect of Literacy and an empowering legacy to create.
At their designated timeslot, the class with their teacher will walk to the Centre and spend around 15 minutes with the children.
We are excited to hear how the children and students enjoy this opportunity and we hope that this is something that will continue beyond our graduation from Kingston Primary School.
We appreciate the support of Chloe and Lindy from Adventure Patch, as well as Ms Dobson and Miss Crane at school.
