Issue 8, 5 June 2025, Week 6 Term 2

Dear Families,
Last week was National Reconciliation Week and this was a truly significant experience for our entire School Community. We were incredibly proud to come together for a special Assembly, where the engagement of all students demonstrated the importance of the occasion. A particular highlight was the performance led by our Year 5/6 Munday students, deepening our understanding of the importance of Reconciliation. Throughout the week every classroom engaged in meaningful learning experiences to grow our knowledge of the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This culminated in a magnificent whole school display in the centre corridor of the school. Each contribution to this display represents our school taking a collective journey towards Reconciliation. We thank all students and staff for their respectful participation and dedication to National Reconciliation Week.
Learn to Swim Program
Over the past fortnight our Year 3 to 5 students have demonstrated determination during our annual Swimming and Water Safety Program. It was a successful two weeks, with students making significant strides in learning critical, life-saving swimming skills and water safety. We were immensely proud of the way all students represented Kingston Primary School, displaying our values of respect and courage, particularly when faced with what can be an exhausting and challenging two week period. The growth in confidence and competence in the water was evident across all year levels, which is a testament to their hard work and the excellent instruction provided. Congratulations to everyone on such a fantastic achievement and a huge thanks to Mrs Cockerell for her organisational brilliance.
Importance of Uniform
At Kingston Primary School, wearing our school uniform is far more than just a requirement; it's a symbol of pride in our school, unity, and our shared commitment to the values that define our community. Our uniform proudly represents Kingston Primary's values and plays a crucial role in fostering a strong sense of belonging among our students.
By wearing the uniform correctly and with care, students demonstrate respect for themselves, their peers and our entire School Community. We strongly encourage all Kingston Primary students to wear their uniform and to adhere to our uniform guidelines.
As the colder weather approaches, we understand that getting clothes dry can sometimes be a challenge. Therefore if a uniform item is not dry or goes missing, we ask that families reach out and we will happily assist. Additionally, with our commitment to getting outdoors each day, jackets and beanies are highly recommended to keep our students warm and comfortable. We have Kingston Primary School beanies and jackets currently in stock. Please contact the School Office should you need any assistance in purchasing school uniform.
Kindergarten for 2026
Kinder classes for 2026 are filling fast! Securing your child's place at Kingston Primary School for Kindergarten in 2026 is vital and we urge all families to submit their Enrolment Forms to the School Office as soon as possible.
We are thrilled to announce that we will be running two Kindergarten classes next year, and already one of these classes is full, highlighting the strong demand for our wonderful Early Learning Program.
To assist prospective families with the important decision of where to send their little one to school, our dedicated Kindergarten educators will be available on Fridays to offer guided tours of our facilities and can answer any questions you may have about the educational experience Kingston Primary School has to offer. However it is important you call the School Office to make a booking. Don't miss this opportunity to secure your child's spot and explore how we can support your child’s education.
Mr Stafford's Grade 5/6 class has been diving deep into the fascinating world of solids, liquids, and gases in their recent science lessons! They've explored the unique properties of each state of matter through engaging activities. A highlight of their investigations involved using red cabbage water as a natural pH indicator to test the acidity and alkalinity of various household substances, turning their classroom into a buzzing mini-laboratory!
